Summary
Condoms are usually known for their protective benefits, and of course practicing safe sex should be your #1 priority. Another great benefit of condoms is their versatility when it comes to prolonging and improving the pleasure for both him and her. It can be difficult to know where to start with condoms that provide desensitisation, especially if you’ve never used them before.
The two main brands of condoms in the US are Trojan and Durex. Globally known, these two brands are the best when it comes to desensitising condoms to help you last longer.
We’ve listed a few things for you to consider before purchasing your condoms.
Allergies
Check yourself and your partner to see whether you are allergic to latex, which is what all of the reviewed condoms above are made from. If you’re allergic, opt for latex free condoms instead.
Sizing
Most condoms will come in regular and large, but if you’re unsure which size works best for you, then you should check the width and length and measure when your penis is erect. The condom should fit snugly, rather than feeling loose – as this can leave you exposed to either getting pregnant or contracting an STI.
Benzocaine concentration
Although the concentrations will always vary from 4-5%, you may find that a lower concentration still gives you the same results, so we recommend experimenting. If you’re someone who struggles with stamina and premature ejaculation, we’d recommend going for the higher percentage as this should give you enough numbing to enable you to last longer. Please note that the benzocaine concentration won’t affect your female partner, as it is on the inside of the condom.
STIs
Even though condoms are incredibly effective against STIs and pregnancies, we recommend getting tested every three months if you are sexually active, even if you’re using condoms. Please take this into consideration as although condoms are effective, getting tested regularly if you have multiple partners can help to avoid any scares.
Texture
If your partner likes the idea of texture, please note that you (he) will not feel any difference, as the texture is on the outside of the condom. Consult with your partner and see what she’d like, as although texture can increase pleasure it may not be for everybody.
FAQ
Here we answer some of your burning questions.
Which condoms are best for lasting longer?
The two best brands that we recommend are Trojan and Durex. They have an excellent range of long lasting condoms. Other condoms that are specifically for lasting longer will contain benzocaine, a numbing agent.
If I suffer from premature ejaculation, should I use condoms with benzocaine?
Yes! Benzocaine is the numbing agent which can help you to last longer and prevent premature ejaculation.
Which condom brand is the best?
We’d be biased if we gave you an answer, but our two favourite brands are Durex and Trojan. Both have their own benefits, and Trojan naturally has a lower concentration of Benzocaine (numbing agent) than Durex, so it’s all down to personal preference.
Can condoms break?
Yes, if not put on properly (or if they are out of date) there is a risk that condoms may break. To avoid this, ensure you are putting on the condom properly and you are using a water based lubricant only.
I’m allergic to latex, what do I do?
You can purchase non-latex condoms which are equally as effective through our website.
